Facebook group here. We’ll be field tripping 9 just because, so come with us and have a grand ‘ol time! Showing’s this Wednesday (tomorrow) at the Century 14 Downtown. Time will be 7:00pm. If you want to guarantee yourself tickets, we’ll be buying some tomorrow in advance… stop by the Anime Club office with $10 to get in on this! Oootherwise, we’ll see you there!
P.S. If you need a ride, drop your phone number. If you can offer a ride, say so!

Hey Club!
It’s Labor Day weekend, but fret not! Anime Club will be on as per usual. We’ll be watching anime, playing games, and doing Anime Jeopardy! We’ll get the anime out of the way first, then break for games. Anything goes, so bring your cards, your board games, your handhelds, and your consoles!
But first, the winner for Member’s Choice this semester is Samurai Champloo, so look for it on the schedule once we hear back on the topic of permissions (i.e. not quite yet)! We may have to play “catch up” with an extra episode here or there, but trust me, it’s worth the wait!
Oh! And we’ll be doing membership dues and sign-ups for next week’s scavenger hunt (spoiler)! So be there if you want to get your name on either list… be there! Information on joining can be found here.
The schedule follows the break. We’ll see you this weekend!

Hey Club!
First of all, thanks to everyone for a Bang-Up meeting this past Saturday! 63 people is nothing to scoff at, and I hope each and every one of you had a good time! As I mentioned Saturday (I did mention this, didn’t I?), Club relies on member input to function, so if you have any ideas for future events (like our Otaku Bingo) or suggestions for Anime to show, let us know! If you don’t know how you can help, but would like to anyway, let us know also – we’d love for you to get involved!
That in mind, I’d like to introduce a recurring event for us to get to know each other better – The “Cool Kid’s” Cafeteria Table! Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12pm-1pm, we’ll be having chow down in the SUB Lobo Lair, right outside our office (1031). Short notice, but I’ll be there today with my sack lunch… and I’ve got the offer of Granola Bar for Snack Pack out there for the record. :p So yeah… bring your brownbag, your Chick Fil-a, or whatever you want and hang out with us!
Lastly, a bit of record keeping. There are a couple of new pages on the site: How to Join, and Newsletters. How to Join documents exactly that, so hit the link if you’d like more information on becoming an Anime Club card carrier, as well as some of the benefits! As for Newsletters – I guess they’re both self-explanatory. :p In any case, we’re here for any further questions or suggestions you might have!
Justin out.

Welcome to the UNM Anime Club’s mailing list/home page! And for those of you already subscribed, welcome back! We’ve got lots of fun in store for this upcoming year, and we’re glad to have so many interested people!
We’ll be sending out weekly emails pertaining to Club and Club Activities, so watch your inbox! In addition, we have a facebook, a twitter (still tweetless T.T), and a forum. So if you’re all about Anime Club networking, jump online and friend/follow/join us!
Our first meeting is THIS SATURDAY from 4-9pm in Lobo A/B; 3rd floor of the Student Union Bldg. We’ll be showing Fruits Basket, Baccano!, and AMV Hell 3 to round things out. In addition! We’ll have video games, door prizes, and free Saggio’s pizza… it’s gonna be fantastic, and you don’t wanna miss it!
Excited? Hit the link below for our schedule break-down. We’ll see you all this Saturday!

We’re at the duck pond all this week from 8am to 2pm! Come find us!
Change of plans! Due to the restrictions created by SAC’s themed days, we’ll only be set up by the Duck Pond on THURSDAY. We’ll see you all then!
Hey gang!
The new semester’s here, and Anime Club’s ringing it in as part of FNL – TONIGHT in the SUB from 8pm – 11pm. We’ll be there to welcome back old anime clubbers and to welcome in the prospective new members. We’ll also have candies and cookies (if you bug me) to entice, along with a heaping helping of information about the new, improved Anime Club of Fall ‘09 for whomever wants it.
And if our glorious presence isn’t enough to sell you on FNL, listen to what the SAC has to pitch!
Stop by the SUB for the 4th annual Friday Night Live! The entire building will be full of great events. This year New Mexico’s own Vanilla Pop will be performing all the best dance hits in their own “groovy” style live in the Atrium. Check out their website at www.vanillapop.com. There will also be a Photo Booth, Casino Games, Henna Tattoos, Karaoke, Salsa Dance Lessons, Video Games on Projection Screens (Including a Wii, Guitar Hero and DDR), Lobo Sports Teams, a Dance, and Free Food including Pizza, Desserts, Finger Foods, Candy Popcorn, Pepsi Products & More!
We hope to see everyone there!

Or is it 1-3? Ah well. What’s important is…

The forums now work! Go and make a topic to commemorate this awesome outcome! In fact, if you post an intro topic and call my attention to it during Friday Night Live or Welcome Back Week (with the keyphrase: “Justin – Did you finish your summer homework yet?”), you will get a cookie. Yes, an actual, edible, chocolate-chip cookie. From me to you.
Oh, and I’ve updated the Schedule page. Lemme know your thoughts!
…Is how far you’d have to go – by car and kayak – to get to Okinawa, Japan. OR you could show up at the SUB atrium between 12:00pm and 1:00pm this upcoming Tuesday and bear witness to a slice of Japanese culture, performed for your benefit and without any admission fee. You’d have to be crazy not to attend! Here’s the spiel, straight from our pals @ Japanese Club:
So, a group from Okinawa is going to be here on the 18th of August, and they have asked the Japanese Club to be/help get an audience for them. You don’t have to show, but it sure would be nice. And it’d be even better if you could bring friends or tell people about it. These guys are going to be performing the three-stringed instrument, and giving a shodo demonstration as well as some other demonstrations. Though it supposed to end at 1, it may go on longer. [...] Let’s make sure these guys’ long hours of practice was worthwhile.
Yes. Let’s.

Say hello to the new Anime Club Forums!
The InvisionFree forums have long been acquiring an air of stagnancy, so this Fall, we’ll be rolling out a new message board system = one that’s fully intergrated with our WordPress installation, so you won’t have to juggle two different accounts in order to comment on the blog and post on the forums. The old forums are still there if you ever get those pangs of nostalgia for the light blue InvisionFree layout, but I encourage everyone to miagrate to the new boards using your existing blog account – it’d be nice if we could drum up a revitalized interest in online member interaction!
There may yet be some kinks to work out, but at least the site is functioning! G’wan, make an introduction topic. You know you want to.
Oh, and I updated the Officer’s Page with pictures. Busy, busy.
