Your name, year, and major?
Justin. I’m 22, a junior UNM vet, and I’m double majoring in English and Philosophy. :p

How did you get into Anime?
I was a gamer long before I became an Anime nerd, despite the overlap. It wasn’t until after my freshman year at UNM that I acquired the watching of anime as a hobby, the result of my outdoors-y roommate’s passing interest in Bleach. Irony. Come fall of Sophmore year, I joined Anime Club and bid for the position of Secretary. The rest, as they say, is history.

What do you do as part of Anime Club?
Everything? Hah! Not quite, but I run the show. A lot of “being President” is just overseeing Club and making sure that everything goes swimmingly. I guess you could say the bulk of my efforts are concentrated in delegating duties amongst officers and making sure they do their job. On the side, I seek out new and interesting opportunities for club to undertake.

What do you do outside of Club?
Oh, any number of things. I’m big into Magic the Gathering, Super Smash Bros., and J-RPGs. The less- but still nerdy side of me enjoys reading, writing, crosswords, and theatre (musical and otherwise). Also, I like to jog! It should probably go without saying that I watch anime, but there it is? I guess?

Favorite Anime?
Haruhi Suzumiya’s Melancholy, Kaiji, and Nodame Cantabile are the standouts. MyAnimeList has my watching and evaluation habits catalogued if you want to know more!

Final Fantasy Tactics, Magic the Gathering, Bookworm Adventures, Scrabble, Taboo…
