Facebook group here. We’ll be field tripping 9 just because, so come with us and have a grand ‘ol time! Showing’s this Wednesday (tomorrow) at the Century 14 Downtown. Time will be 7:00pm. If you want to guarantee yourself tickets, we’ll be buying some tomorrow in advance… stop by the Anime Club office with $10 to get in on this! Oootherwise, we’ll see you there!

P.S. If you need a ride, drop your phone number. If you can offer a ride, say so!

15,000 km

…Is how far you’d have to go – by car and kayak – to get to Okinawa, Japan. OR you could show up at the SUB atrium between 12:00pm and 1:00pm this upcoming Tuesday and bear witness to a slice of Japanese culture, performed for your benefit and without any admission fee. You’d have to be crazy not to attend! Here’s the spiel, straight from our pals @ Japanese Club:

So, a group from Okinawa is going to be here on the 18th of August, and they have asked the Japanese Club to be/help get an audience for them. You don’t have to show, but it sure would be nice. And it’d be even better if you could bring friends or tell people about it. These guys are going to be performing the three-stringed instrument, and giving a shodo demonstration as well as some other demonstrations. Though it supposed to end at 1, it may go on longer. [...] Let’s make sure these guys’ long hours of practice was worthwhile.

Yes. Let’s.

Hunger Cleanup, Anime Club Style

OK, I’m kind of shaky on the details right now, as per usual, but this Saturday we’ll be doing a little volunteer work. I’m pretty sure it’s before club, and I absolutely know it’d be wonderful if we could get some awesome people to help out.

As far as I understand, the plan is:
1. We meet up in the morning.
2. We travel to some destination in need of our help.
3. We do one of the following: painting local shelters, planting community gardens, repairing and cleaning food banks, and construction.
4. The world is a bit of a better place :D

Until I have more info, here’s the website: http://hungercleanup.org/index.html
If you check it out, I’m sure you’ll agree it seems like a wonderful program. I’ll be there ^^
