If you ever take any of your own photos at the meeting, and wouldn’t mind seeing them on the website, please send them to me at anime@unm.edu! And a reminder, we’re be doing Club Lunch on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the Lobo Lair outside our office. Time’s 12-1pm… Hopefully we’ll see you there!

Lunch in the Basement (Due to Lack of Rooftop Keys)

nomnomnom uvaa~!Hey Club!

First of all, thanks to everyone for a Bang-Up meeting this past Saturday! 63 people is nothing to scoff at, and I hope each and every one of you had a good time! As I mentioned Saturday (I did mention this, didn’t I?), Club relies on member input to function, so if you have any ideas for future events (like our Otaku Bingo) or suggestions for Anime to show, let us know! If you don’t know how you can help, but would like to anyway, let us know also – we’d love for you to get involved!

That in mind, I’d like to introduce a recurring event for us to get to know each other better – The “Cool Kid’s” Cafeteria Table! Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12pm-1pm, we’ll be having chow down in the SUB Lobo Lair, right outside our office (1031). Short notice, but I’ll be there today with my sack lunch… and I’ve got the offer of Granola Bar for Snack Pack out there for the record. :p So yeah… bring your brownbag, your Chick Fil-a, or whatever you want and hang out with us!

Lastly, a bit of record keeping. There are a couple of new pages on the site: How to Join, and Newsletters. How to Join documents exactly that, so hit the link if you’d like more information on becoming an Anime Club card carrier, as well as some of the benefits! As for Newsletters – I guess they’re both self-explanatory. :p In any case, we’re here for any further questions or suggestions you might have!

Justin out.

Site Updates: Stage 2-1

Or is it 1-3? Ah well. What’s important is…

This is my 'I got Wordpress to work!' face.

The forums now work! Go and make a topic to commemorate this awesome outcome! In fact, if you post an intro topic and call my attention to it during Friday Night Live or Welcome Back Week (with the keyphrase: “Justin – Did you finish your summer homework yet?”), you will get a cookie. Yes, an actual, edible, chocolate-chip cookie. From me to you. :)

Oh, and I’ve updated the Schedule page. Lemme know your thoughts!

Site Updates: The Minus World

Say hello to the new Anime Club Forums!

The InvisionFree forums have long been acquiring an air of stagnancy, so this Fall, we’ll be rolling out a new message board system = one that’s fully intergrated with our WordPress installation, so you won’t have to juggle two different accounts in order to comment on the blog and post on the forums. The old forums are still there if you ever get those pangs of nostalgia for the light blue InvisionFree layout, but I encourage everyone to miagrate to the new boards using your existing blog account – it’d be nice if we could drum up a revitalized interest in online member interaction!

There may yet be some kinks to work out, but at least the site is functioning! G’wan, make an introduction topic. You know you want to. ;)

Oh, and I updated the Officer’s Page with pictures. Busy, busy.

Site Updates: Stage 1-2

I’m installing a fresh version of WordPress and bringing us up to date with all the plugin gears that make anime dot unm dot edu what it is. I’ve never done this before, so bear with me if things go weird for a little bit. When we’re back, you should see a familiar look. And some new forums. Stay posted!

Site Updates: Stage 1-1

In preparation for the new semester, I’m gonna be adding some new content and updating some old. By the end of it, you should have a good idea of where Club stands, and where we stand to take it for the upcoming Fall and beyond. To whet your appetite, I’ll allude to a brand-new forum, a new meeting structure, the rollout of our Anime Library, and the advent of weekly Club Activites that aren’t just screenings.

In the meantime, I’ve got a small update. The banner’s been changed to give the site a nice, Fall ‘09 feel, and the Officer’s section has been updated to include a questionnaire. So if you want all the jucy details, head on over to the Officers Page… photographic evidence upcoming. Heh.

Let me know in the comments what you think about these changes as they progress, and what you think we should prioritize as a club. Remember… we do it all for you guys! :)

Thank you kindly.

Just wanted to send out a short thanks to all those who showed up for the tournament, especially those who helped with equipment. Thanks for making this event a success!

Officer Meeting Minutes

For those of you who want to know what we officers talk about during our officer meetings you can now e-mail me for the officer meeting minutes (which is basically a list of what we talked about) at chaindrain@msn.com. Officer meetings take place weekly on Thursdays, and those who wish to come to voice concerns or just to see how Anime Club is run on the administrative side are welcome to contact Justin or myself for times.

And here we are.

Thought to spare: And here we are again. A fresh start, a new beginning.

As of today, I can confirm that the club has an office. And what a perilous quest it was to find the office.

Having walked a good way, our dear secretary found himself in want of refreshment and stopped by the art building acquire said drink. Upon entering the building he spied a large piece of art shaped a bit like those Japanese Torii, out in the enclosed courtyard.

Upon inspection he discovered it was an inter-dimensional gate. Not daring to go through it, he tried to get back into the art building only to discover that the door to the enclosed courtyard was locked on the courtyard side.
