Rollover Anime

The Ballroom was quite the change of pace… Did you guys like it, or no? Lemme know in the comments!

For this weekend’s meeting, we’re giving you guys a couple ‘a new options. First is Y-Quart, which involves a psychic detective, a superheroine, a conjurer, and a regular guy. They fight crime. Second is White Album, which introduces us to the lesser-known problems of dating a rising Idol. I’ve not seen either of these, so feel free to educate me. :)

Youtube opening clips follow the break:

  • I’ve seen all of Yozakura Quartet and its ok. Not particularly great. I’ve only seen the first episode of White Album and it was way too serious for me.

This might all just be me. I’m sure others have different opinions on them.

  • Yozakura Quartet is a much better manga. It’s down right bizarre to see it animated.

“White Album” just reminds me of the Beetles.

  • Personally I prefer White Album over Toradora in the drama department (that sounds funny). But eh, I’ve watched all of Toradora and wasn’t exactly happy how it progressed after some where around episode 15 or so, but that’s me. But just too warn you (i.e. every one as well). It is slow paced and has on screen text (more then the sub titles). But that isn’t too say it’s boring. Every once in a while the girls get treated to a water color shot which is a nice touch.

I wasn’t very impressed with Yozakura Quartets animation adaption. The manga has really sharp line work, which kind of got softened out, and had a sense of humor that I enjoyed, which was dropped from at least from the first episode.

The ballroom was a nice change, but trying to get things set up would be a problem (mainly the sound). But you can read the sub titles from the back of the room which is nice.
