Alright, seeing as the YouTube stuff went over well, I’m doing it again this week! After the break, find info on- and footage of four new series that are on this week’s poll. The usual poll stuff applies, so cast your ballot by midnight Friday!

The organizers of SWACE informed me yesterday that they’ll be unable to attend our meeting due to some last-minute complications. Don’t fret, however! We’ll still have the opportunity to work with them for the upcoming convention! Stay tuned for more info!!!
Incidentally, this development means we’ll be running today’s Anime Club on a non-modified schedule. See you all there!

Whew! It’s been quite the long week. To recap, we readied a new anime lineup, opened officer meetings up to the general club, and scheduled the SWACE Meet n’ Greet for this Saturday, 4:00pm.
Before I dive into the schedule, I’d like to encourage everyone with a vested interest in Club to come to the officer meetings–we’re considering some changes that’ll affect how Club is run next semester, and your input is extremely valuable. They’re held weekly at 5:00pm in the Lobo Lair… hopefully we’ll see some of you there next week!
Oh, and for those of you attending FANIME, next Tuesday, March 31st is the deadline for payment. We’ll be ready to take payments this Saturday starting at 3:00pm, so please come by then; or, if you cannot, contact me as soon as possible so that we can arrange another time before next Tuesday. Also remember that if you have a PayPal account, you can pay the remaining balance by following the link in the right sidebar.
Now, on to what’s really important.
This Saturday’s schedule, after the link:

Devon here, friendly UNM Anime Club secretary, just wanting to remind you that the deadline for your second payment for FANIME is due Tuesday, the 31st.
This is also the cancellation deadline, if you do not cancel by the 31st we will not be able to give you your $25 reimbursement.
In practical terms that means you should get the money to us by Saturday’s meeting (officers will be there at 3:00 so you can show up early). I’ll also be in the Anime Club’s office (SUB Room 1049, in the Lobo Lair) from 12:30 to 5:30 on Monday if you wish to drop it off then.
If you’ve already paid in full or are not going, just ignore this.
Hope to see you soon.

We call them that, but they’re really open to everyone at club.
The Anime Club holds weekly officer meetings every Thursday at 5:00pm in the Lobo Lair of the Student Union Building (outside of our office, Rm. 1049). If you’d like, please join us–you can come and contribute, or just watch the proceedings. And if you can’t attend, please don’t hesitate to contact us with any ideas or suggestions you may have for the upcoming year. And check back Friday–we’ll be posting the meeting minutes so that everyone can keep informed on the administrative side of Anime Club.
Anime Club is serious business, after all!

This Saturday’s meeting will play host to Southwest Animation Confrence & Expo’s first meet and greet! If you have any ideas for panels, events, etc; or if you’d like to volunteer to be a part of the SWACE staff; or if you’d just like to interact with the people of SWACE and learn more about the convention, we’ll be on the third floor of the Student Union Bldg. (as usual) in Acoma A/B and Fiesta A/B at 4:00pm sharp!
Here’s the official spiel:
March 28, 2009, 4:00 PM @ The University of New Mexico’s Student Union building in the [Acoma A/B] room located on the third floor. We’ll be meeting with the University of NM Anime Club and anyone else interested in staffing the convention or help us get the word out. Our goal is to bring a show to the community that is catered to you guys, the community. We are looking for people who are full of ideas and suggestions on how we can make this the BEST Animation convention in New Mexico! Feel free to contact us about the Meet and Greet and we look forward to meeting all of you!
UPDATE: Due to some complications with the room we were scheduled for, we’ll be in Acoma A/B as opposed to Lobo. There’s some official-type explanation after the break.

Whoa-oh! We’ve gone and run out of shows to watch! Not to worry, though, with the help of club member Tommy, I’ve compiled a list of replacement shows to possibly join Macross Frontier on the schedule. And this week you’ll be allowed three votes in the poll!
But what to vote on? Well, following the break are your options–each titles is linked to pertinent information about the anime. There’s also some Youtube footage to give you a taste of the shows (lots of it–take heed if your computer is slow). Polls close Friday at 12:01am, so don’t delay!

Just a little reminder to all you Anime Club goers that there is no meeting this week, being spring break and all we’re taking a break.
Hope to see you again on the 28th however!

Events.
This coming Saturday is our extended club meeting, which we’ll kick off at Lower Johnson Field at 1:00pm. We’ve already got a few people volunteering to bring stuff, but we’ll need more grub if we want to feed a hungry club, hence, potluck!
Our main course will be teriyaki beef and chicken, which’ll be served up by Tommy (and partially funded by Club). I’ll be bringing some Ramune; Moxie’s offered chips; David, some Japanese food; and Devon has promised plastic cutlery… but we could really use some more food and drink–please comment if you can/will bring something, so’s that we don’t end up with too much of one item. Some things we could probably use are:
- Soda/Drinks
- Napkins/Plates
- Dip/Condiments
- Desserts
- …etc.
As far as activities go, I’ll be bringing frisbees, baseball mitts, and kickball (maybe some silly string too
). Everyone else is welcome to come with stuff too, and we’ll make due with whatever we end up with. And remember, we’ll be moving back into the SUB for regularly-scheduled club at 4:00pm, so keep excited! ‘Til then!!!

Just a warning… things aren’t going as planned, as per usual. Since Anime Club seems to be the butt of some cosmic joke, we’re having issues with the screening again. Oh, world. *laugh track*
I’m just warning you now, as the super-scared VP, that the screening may be canceled.
No amount of emoticons can express my sorrow. I’ll keep you posted!

UPDATE: Tonight’s screening is CANCELED. I apologise dearly to all of you who made plans to attend, and assure you that we will make every effort to make better accomidations in the future.
