The new semester’s knocking at our door, and our first club meeting is just under two weeks away! We’ve got lots of great things in store for the upcoming year in the form of anime, club events, and maybe even a convention or two! Before we can shift focus to anything else, however, we need to get out there and recruit new members and drum up excitement among current members. What better time to do both, than Welcome Back week?
As usual, Anime Club will have its booth set up by the Duck Pond alongside all the other student organizations between 8am and 2pm all of next week, but in addition! Anime Club will be present at Friday Night Live, in the Student Union Building this Friday (August 22nd) from 8pm to 11pm. FNL will play host to a myriad of events, including dances, casino tables, and video games on a projection screen. And if you don’t come in search of entertainment, there’s free food!
For Welcome Back Week itself, we’re in dire need of volunteer club members to help man the booth. Please leave a comment if you’ll be around and available to help us out! Be sure to say what days and hours you’re available, and we’ll make a place for you! Also, if anyone has any anime- and manga-themed merchandise to help dress up the table, drop us a note!
