So as something I decided to just throw out at random, since this blog has only seemed to be used for updating when the next meetings are I decided to mix it up a little.
Chances are if you’ve been hanging around officers or members of the club who spend their time around our office area you’ve at least heard about Katawa Shoujo in passing. As someone who’s played it quite often over the past week or so I thought I’d give a brief review on the game and introduce it to any members who might be curious or just interested in visual novels in general~

This Saturday in anime club we’ll be looking at three different shenani-tastic anime! All of which are hot off the… the… whatever it is that anime come hot off of! Also our Whose Line: Anime Edition shenanigans are coming back to supplement the playful mood!
Big test to see who actually reads these and visits our forums! I’ll (Haru) be posting a suggestion thread in the Club Circle section. If you have any anime-themed ideas for the ever-famous “Scenes From A Hat” post them there! The thread will be up either sometime tonight or tomorrow, so keep an eye out!
*EDIT* Submit any ideas for Anime Whose Line here: http://s1.zetaboards.com/UNMAnimeClub/topic/4665719/1/
Hope to see you all on Saturday~!

So, it’s our last meeting of the semester (I know you’re all heartbroken, but we’ll be back, and better than ever!) so we’ve decided to end it with a movie showing. We’ll also be having a swap-meet, where we’ll all be bringing in old things we don’t want anymore and trading or selling them with fellow club members, so bring in anything you got that you think someone might like. Also, remember: THIS IS THE LAST DAY TO PAY FOR ALA. I MEAN IT. LAST. DAY. If you don’t pay off the rest of your $175 ($125 for drivers), you will not be going, and you’re $50 will be forfeit (if you think you’ll be going next year, we can rollover your membership so you won’t need to pay the $50 next ALA). Anyway, here’s what we’re watching.

It’s Thanksgiving this week, everyone! Enjoy yourselves some Turkey and stuffing, now’s no time for Anime Club (and it wouldn’t be fun without me, anyway) so go, have fun with your families. There are, however, a few announcements. The absolute finally final deadline for your ALA money is December 3rd, our last meeting. If you can get it in earlier, please, please do so. We’d hate to have to cut someone off without them getting their $50 back.
It’s that time of year again, where the officers you’ve come to know and love for a whole year get replaced by new people you don’t quite like as much take their place and bumble around for a year until they finally get stuff figured out just in time to get replaced by a new bunch of screwheads. All that aside, vote for me! Anyway, since it’s Mattlock’s birthday also, he’ll be picking the Anime, it’ll be a surprise! List of officer hopefuls after the jump (also, it’s not too late to sign up! We’re accepting late entries day-of.)

This week is special, as we’ll be having our fourth Super Smash Bros. Brawl Tournament! There’s a huuuuuge, detailed post on our forums here, but if you’re feeling a bit tl;dr, here’s the gist of it, there will be a Brawl Tournament this Saturday in the SUB Ballrooms A and B. Registration starts at 9:00 A.M. with the tournament starting at 10:00 A.M. There will be singles and doubles tournament, with an entrance fee of $5 a person in singles and $10 a team for doubles. Prizes, rule sets, legal stages, and other things are on the forum post. Now, since most of our officers will be busy running the tournament, we won’t be having much in the way of events for club, but we will have some anime for you to watch, so details after the jump.

So, we don’t really have an event this week, but, after Maid Café and Halloween, we could use a break. So, what we’re doing this week is letting you tell us what we’ve screwed up so far. We’ll be having our discussion day, where you give us feedback on what we did good and bad. We’ll still have games and anime and whatnot, so even if you have no criticisms or praise, you’re not forced to. This is a great time to start thinking about officer positions, everyone. You’ll have your chance to talk to the current officer board and see what you’d like to run for. And a few announcements, at the top of the screen you’ll see a link to our Lobo Brawl 4 Rule Sets, posted by David. And remember to pay off your Anime Los Angeles money as soon as possible! We’re always looking for more drivers to ALA, if you’re willing. Also, we have a pretty interesting lineup of anime. List after the jump.

That’s right everyone, it’s Halloween, the best time of year. Everybody dresses up in costumes and goes around eating candy. It truly is special. Wait, didn’t we all do that for the past two club meetings? Whatever. Costumes! Candy! Karaoke! Pumpkin Carving! J-Horror! Anime! We’ll have it all! Make sure you come in costume, we’re having a contest this time around! We’ll be working with the Japanese Club to set up this super fun day for all of you, so be sure to thank them, too. They’ll be providing the J-Horror movie, but we can at least tell you about our Anime!

It’s that time again! That’s right, it’s Maid Café day! This semester, the Maid Café will be Vocaloid themed, so there’s going to be lots of singing and dancing. The Maid Café is a small subset of the Anime Club, run by Brianna, that meets independently of the normal club and officer meetings to put on a great show for you guys! Enjoy!
Before we get in to the anime list, a few reminders: We are still accepting Anime Los Angeles money. Please pay off your initial $50 by the 29th, that means TWO WEEKS. Read about it here. Also, remember that next week is our Halloween party, with a costume contest. Better have that costume ready! Now that that’s all out of the way, here’s a list of stuff we’re watching.
