There is a meeting tomorrow (06/26/09) from 2:00pm -5:30pm in Santa Ana A/B.
That is all.
Another officer meeting tomorrow (that’s Thursday) in the Anime Club office (SUB Lobo Lair 1031) from 4-5:30. And another general club meeting the day after tomorrow (that’s Friday) from 2-5:30. The location for the club meeting is still TBA, so check back Thursday night for the final say on that.
UPDATE: We’re meeting in Acoma A/B; 3rd floor of the SUB this Friday. Bring yer summer enthusiasm!
As I demonstrated last time, summer meetings will be loosely structured, but more-or-less free game… hangout-time. And hey, if anyone has any anime they’d like to suggest, lemme know in the comments! I don’t have anymore Kawaii Jenny (damn), but there’s more Basara, more K-On, and–if you guys want–some more Hetailia. 
I’m also thinking of holding a Gurren Lagann marathon next week, with maybe a break for lunch. Who would go to that?
The schedule is a lie:
Can you really wait another 2.5 months for another Anime Club meeting? Well, we couldn’t, so we’ll be having our first Summer Club meeting this upcoming Friday! Due to the stifled summer hours of the SUB, our meeting will be held earlier in the day. So that’s Friday, June 12th from 2pm until 6pm in FIESTA A/B!
We’ll be watching Ouran High School Host Club in addition to whatever else you guys wanna see off of my Hard Drive! We won’t have much of a schedule (summer meetings aren’t that structured!), but we will have anime, board games, and some discussion! It’s sure to be fun, so take a break from your summer and see your Anime Club!
Also, we’ll have an officer’s meeting this Wednesday from 4:30pm until 6pm in our new office, located in the Lobo Lair, room 1031! Lotsa inside developments! And lotsa more stuff to discuss! You should be there (esp. if you’re considering running for an officer position come Fall)!

Well, guys and gals… this here be your first summer update. They will be a lot fewer than those in the regular semester, and perhaps even halt entirely for the month of July, when I’m abroad, but THEY WILL EXIST! Look! You are reading the proof right now! Wowzers!
I had a blast at Fanime! And I’d like to thank each and every one of you that went–it would not have nearly as fun without chance to run into you guys and do impromptu stuff in the hallways! This post will showcase my favorite memories of Fanime, but let us know your own in the comments! There’s also room for criticism if you agree that the trip could be improved on! If you went with us, check your email and send us the survey so’s that we can better ourselves for next time (aka ala)!

UNM Anime Club will be at the Fuddrucker’s at Yale and Gibson tonight to celebrate the beginning of Summer and the dawn of FANIME week with burgers and shakes! Come by @ 6:00pm and mention ‘Anime Club’ when you order your food to help us put money into our San Jose Rainy-Day fund!
Also, if you’re going to FANIME, we’ll be giving out some necessary info, so try your best to be there!

Our last meeting before finals and summer is today! At 4:00pm in Mirage/Thuderbird! We’ll be watching Shuffle! and finishing up Nodame and Macross… And after that’s all over and done with, we’ll head over to Mirai for some Japanese foodstuffs!

Our meeting today is from 4:00pm until 8:00pm in Acoma A/B and Isleta.
Before that is a SWACE Meet n’ Greet, held at the hotel where the convention will take place in Late July/Early August. It’s happening at 3:00pm at the Albuquerque Grand on Yale Blvd. There’ll be free food and con staffers–we’ll see you all there!

Just wanted to send out a short thanks to all those who showed up for the tournament, especially those who helped with equipment. Thanks for making this event a success!
Brawl Tournament this Saturday! Head a couple ‘a posts down on the site for full details. We’re modifying some of the rules in keeping with a fairer–yet still competitive–atmosphere. Final changes will be available on the rules sheets at the tourney, but the condensed version is as follows:
- Planking maneuvers (Dropping, then re-grabbing the stage edge) are capped at 5
- Grab-release and standing chain grabs are banned.
Be sure to bring your own controllers to minimize loans, and if you can help us with a set-up (Wii and TV, or just Wii), we’d be eternally grateful! Sign-ups are at 1:00 on the SUB Mall Level! We’ll see you all there!!!
In Anime news, The Gurren Lagann movie is now available subbed through the regular channels. Part 1 of–I guess–2. It’s just as awesome as the series was, and there’s some new footage and some merged/cut plots to help with the time condensation. Relive the the GAR!
As for Club, it’ll take place as per usual in the room adjactent to the tournament, Fiesta A/B. There wasn’t a poll this week, but we’ll be showing our regulars as well as some stuff that’s fared well in the past. Don’t miss it! (Schedule’s up next).

This Saturday, we’ll be watching Toradora and xxxHolic. Sorry to all you fans of Nodame and Maria Holic and White Album. If there’s enough of an outcry for these shows, I might just make special time for them in the upcoming weeks. 
For those as fanatical as I am, there’s a New Haruhi Episode on the Kadokawa channel. It looks exactly like old Haruhi, but there’s 1 minute 30 seconds of new footage interspersed throughout. I swear, this company hates its fans. :/
Spring season’s in full swing. My picks for this season as well as EVERYTHING ELSE I’VE EVER WATCHED are viewable on my newly-created MyAnimeList. If you’re brave enough to tally the days of your life devoted to anime, make your own! Post it in the comments if you do.
